Pictures of Lovett Gymnasium

The old Calhoun High School gym was renamed, Lovett Gymnasium, in honor of Coach Jerry Lovett, a true Icon at Calhoun High School for many years. He spent his entire tenure as a coach and teacher here. There are countless lives that he touched while he was here, and all are the better for it. I had the honor to play basketball for the best there ever was, Coach Lovett. The things I remember most was what he instilled in all his players and students, good work ethics, good sportsmanship, pride, honesty, humility, and most of all to be a honorable person. It is fitting that the old gym be named for him because, he spent so much of his life there.

As will most of his players, I will always remember him saying to me. Gennie crickets, you frazzlin tapper, how many times do I have to tell you, don't let your man go baseline.

Thanks again for being a great coach and friend, to Mister Basketball, Coach Jerry Lovett
